Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data I collect when you apply for a tattoo with me, why I collect it, how long I keep it and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law. Last updated August 2026.

I am Alexander Kuzmin, a tattoo artist working from Requiem Tattoo Studio, 95 High Street, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 7AZ. I am the data controller for the information described below. You can reach me at bookings@kuzmintattoo.com.

What I collect

When you send me an application, I collect:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone or WhatsApp number.
  • Your enquiry details: your description of the design, the placement and rough size, your budget range, any deadline, and any reference images you send me by email or WhatsApp.
  • Your confirmation that you are over 18. I do not tattoo anyone under 18 under any circumstances.

Before your appointment I may also collect relevant health information on a consent form at the studio. That form is handled at the studio and is only used to make it safe to tattoo you.

Technical data collected automatically

When you visit this website, limited technical data is collected automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is used in aggregate to understand basic traffic patterns and to keep the site working and secure. It is not used to build a marketing profile of you.

How I use your data

  • To read and assess your application and decide whether I can take the project on.
  • To reply to you and discuss the design, placement, timings and price.
  • To arrange your appointment, take your deposit and manage your sessions.
  • To give you aftercare instructions and follow up on healing.
  • To keep records I am legally required to keep, and to keep the site secure.

I do not use your data for automated decision-making, and I do not sell it. I do not add you to a marketing list without your consent.

Lawful bases

  • Legitimate interests — assessing and responding to your application, keeping records of enquiries, and keeping the site secure.
  • Contract — arranging and delivering your appointment once we have agreed a project, including deposits and aftercare.
  • Consent — non-essential cookies, and using photographs of your tattoo on my website or social media. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — retaining consent and financial records where the law requires it.

Storage and security

Your data is held in my email account, my phone’s messaging apps and my appointment records, all of which are access controlled and password protected with two-factor authentication where available. Only I have routine access. Where a provider stores data outside the UK, that transfer is covered by the provider’s approved safeguards.

How long I keep it

I keep application and client records for 3 years from our last contact, after which they are deleted. Records I am legally required to keep for longer, such as financial records, are kept for the period the law requires and no longer.

Who I share it with

I share your data only where it is necessary to run the studio and this website, and only with providers who process it on my instructions:

  • Ink Marketing Group Ltd, trading as IYNK® — my verified marketing partner, who built and manages this website and its hosting and analytics on my behalf. You can find them at iynk.io.
  • Requiem Tattoo Studio, where appointments and consent forms are handled.
  • My email, messaging and payment providers, in order to contact you and take deposits.
  • Public authorities, where I am legally required to disclose information.

Cookies

This site sets only strictly necessary cookies by default; these are required for the site to function and do not need your consent. Any non-essential cookies, including analytics and anything used for measurement, are set only after you consent, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time through your browser settings or the cookie controls on this site. There are no advertising cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used.
  • Access a copy of the data I hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data erased where there is no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Restrict or object to my processing of your data.
  • Data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing.

To exercise any of these, email bookings@kuzmintattoo.com and I will respond within one month. If you are not happy with my response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Updates to this policy

I review this policy periodically and will update it if the way I handle your data changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and the current version is always the one published at https://www.kuzmintattoo.com/privacy-policy.
